SOTO AYAM (Yellow Chicken Soup)

I ever met tourist from Canada, she asked me about the special desert in Indonesia... hmmm
Well.. actually Indonesia has different culture to Europe country in Cuisine.. for exsample.. in England, America.. Franch.. they have appetizer.. main course and desert.. but in Indonesia doesn't have..
Most Indonesian people eat directly their main course.. actually we have appetizer.. main course.. and desert.. but rarely Indonesian eat in the same time.. They just eat appetizer / desert if they want to.. so you can eat appetizer before get dinner or maybe you can eat after dinner.....(LOL) that's different..
In other country eat soup as appetizer but Indonesia as a main course.. they take rice and soup in one dish.. We have a lot of Soup.. such as.. black soup.. original soup.. chiken soup.. meat soup.. etc.. Now.. I want to introduce you about The famous one of Soups.. it's called SOTO AYAM LAMONGAN.. (Lamongan Yellow Chicken Soup).. it come from Lamongan city.. East Java. This soup have so delicious taste..

Soto Ayam consist of Chicken.. and traditional spices such as.. onion, fried red onion, turmeric.. (this spice make the yellow color), and many more.. and we pour "KOYA powder" to make the broth lil bit thick. Koya is made from shrimp chips which is crushed and added with onion..
Hmm... then you may pour the citrus squeezing on it.. In Indonesia we usually eat this soup with rice or "Lontong" (steamed rice) and you can try this soup as your breakfast.. lunch or dinner..
Have a nice cullinary trips...

The devil start to come out after "Magrib" (at 6 pm) until before "Shubuh" (at 3 am), Mbak Endang, the owner of "Black Devil Soup" thought that she was like Devil, appear in 7 pm than go home at 3 am, that's why she named her Rawon, with Rawon Setan (Devil Black Soup) and the special thing is she make bigger slice of meat in her Rawon.. I saw something different.. you may see what I have seen in this link and follow my story below..
Yah.. this street called "Sasak Street" a small street but if you come along this street you will find another street to another beautiful spots ( I will tell you later). Okay.. Sasak street is known as "Kampung Arab" (arabian spot), alot of Arabian and Madureese live in this street, this street will also lead you to China Town of Surabaya (Kembang Jepun). On the middle of Street, you will find a traditional market called Pabean, this market is one of the biggest traditional market in Surabaya, all groceries come to this market to buy in bulk quantity. This market also known as Fish market, so if you want to cook fish you may come to this spot beside Kenjeran Fish Market Yea.. last night I passed this street, and I found alot of people were trading fishes, shrimps, shells, and many more.. And surprisedly.. I saw "Bule" (tourist) with his digicam walk along this street.. Hmm what a wonderful scenery. I think this spot can be a new tourist spot (Suggestion for the New Government) but need more attention. Pabean market not only known as Fresh Fish market, but also The salty fish centre, so you will smell "stinky" air and lil bit dirty muddy street (especially in rainy season) O.'o you need your boot.. Sasak also give you other sensation by giving you great architectural building, old building (ducth building) and perfume shop, but even alot of perfume shops as long as Sasak Street.. you will not smell the perfume.. heheh..
